The Perfect Ring

DSCN0633It’s round.  It’s beautiful.  It would give me great joy to have one right now.

I’m not talking about an engagement ring.  I’m talking about an onion ring.  Maybe it isn’t a symbol of true love, but a person can definitely love to eat them.  In Death Nell, Nell writes lovingly about some delicious onion rings she consumes.  What’s your opinion?  Do you like the big, thick rings with a heavy batter or do you prefer the lightly breaded little straws?  There’s no wrong answer.  I love each type as long as it’s cooked properly.  Where is your favorite place for onion rings?  Please share your choice and let the rest of us know where you like to eat a good ring.

Thanks for your comment, Barb. The rings in my pictures are from the last time I was at Boone’s. I was just at Marique’s in Green Bay Friday night and had some great onion rings there, too.

I prefer the thick onion rings with lots of batter. They must be crunchy and maintain that beautiful shape. I am still in search of the perfect ring!

Well, Denise, I think the two of us need to get together and hunt down some rings. I think if we put our heads together we can come up with a few spots to aid us in our quest. Thanks for participating.

Oh, I couldn’t pass this one up! Thick battered, thin battered … really, does it matter? And let’s not forget those gorgeously delicious creations – Bloomin’ Onions!!! Bring it on!!

I agree. If the batter is good, I’ll gobble them down whether thick or thin. Bloomin’ Onions? Yum. Any particular favorite spot for rings, Anne?

Hmmm. No particular spot – since I’m not able to eat out all that often. And since I have it’s all about the biggest bang for my buck, I’ll choose AYCE fish any day. Or every day, all day long. If, by chance, I order onion rings as well … I don’t analyze too closely as I’m gobbling them down.

        Shameless, isn’t it?
